Sweet Louise aims to help women with breast cancer lead more positive lives. They aim to improve patient wellbeing through the delivery of complementary services, which are used in conjunction with conventional medical treatments. They do not advocate "alternative" medicine such as using special diet alone to treat cancer. Their services include research-proven strategies to complement traditional treatment, and uplifting experiences and practical assistance to enable patients to cope better with treatment and its related day- to-day challenges. Some research studies indicate that women who tackle their situation in active ways achieve a better quality of life, and may even live longer, than those who are helpless and passive. Being active could mean seeking information about the illness, taking part in choices about about medical treatment, and taking extra steps to boost well-being. The Louise Perkins Foundation constantly reviews the published research to identify the best options for breast cancer patients to help them lead more positive lives. Their support and services for registered metastatic breast cancer patients are grouped as Sweet Louise Helpers, Sweet Louise Body and Sweet Louise Mind. For more information click here |
