Researchers reported at a medical conference in the USA on 9 December 2011, that a bone drug - Zometa (zolodrenic acid) - actually improves breast cancer survival in some patients.

Initially given to women with metastatic breast cancer to strengthen their bones, treatment with the intravenous drug has been found to reduce the death rate in these patients by 37%. Read original study
