On Thursday 26th of November the Titirangi ‘Casino Girls' were triumphant at the 2009 Hope Women's Golf Classic for a second time. Lead by Club Captain Ann Jugum the team had an incredible day with their chips and putts to storm home with a net score of 61.87 score ahead of new team entries the Lochiel Lunatics and the Waihi Pinkys in third place. The tournament staged at the beautifully prepared Titirangi Golf Club, attracts a full field of women golfers who are very creative and innovative with their pink dress ups and team names. Best dressed team was the Mammo Grans and the best name this year was Thanks for the Mammary. The tournament is always a sell-out event and has a great reputation for an extensive prize table and players packs worth over $10K. New attractions in 2009 included the BRA-ART Fence sponsored by Triumph Lingerie and The Pink Bling hole sponsored by Pandora and Sanders Jewellers of Remuera. Jackie Wells won the prize for best Bra Art with a button embellished bra. This is the 4th annual Hope Classic supporting The NZ Breast Cancer Foundation. This year the tournament raised close to $15,000 for The Foundation. The NZBCF would like to thank Titirangi Golf Club, Par NZ and The Golf House plus all the sponsors who made the day such a success.  |
