Sixty-year-old Leslie Turner was blown away by her husband's secret bid in the Valentine's Day auction that won them a luxury stay on SkyCity's Sky Deck.

Auckland's SkyCity Hotel offered two lucky people the chance to spend a night at the top of the Sky Tower on Valentine's Eve, complete with a private Las Vegas-style suite for their exclusive use. All proceeds of the auction went to The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation (NZBCF).

Brian Turner won the auction with his $5250 bid, beating 114 other people vying for the unique Valentine's day prize.

Brian, 59, said he had been looking for a charity to donate to and the auction enabled his to give his wife an anniversary gift at the same time (the couple have been married for 39 years).

Heather Shotter, Executive Trustee of NZBCF says The Foundation is very appreciative of SkyCity being so generous with the prize.

"One good turn creates another. It was an imaginative fundraising idea and we are very grateful to SkyCity for making it happen and to Brian Turner for choosing to support the Foundation," she said.
