Dr Claire Hardie
Dr Claire Hardie MBChB FRCR is a Radiation Oncologist at the Regional Cancer Treatment Service, Palmerston North Hospital.
Dr Hardie was born in Wiltshire, England and studied Medicine in Edinburgh. After a few years working in general medicine, she commenced specialist training in Clinical Oncology, initially at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London and then at Nottingham City Hospital. After obtaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists in 2005 and qualifying as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist in 2007 she immigrated to New Zealand with her husband to take up the post of Radiation Oncologist in Palmerston North.
Dr Hardie works as a general Radiation Oncologist with a specialist interest in Breast and Lung Cancer. She is chair of the Palmerston North Hospital Breast Cancer MDM; a member of the New Zealand Breast Cancer Special Interest Group and is a member of the New Zealand Breast Cancer Tumour Standards Working Group. She is a Phase I examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists and recently was appointed Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies Palmerston North, University of Otago, Wellington.
Dr Hardie is an active participant in research, with a particular interest in cancer survivorship.
